This is a blog mainly for those who are interested about the origin of the Autran family name in history. Some of my own personal interests are also commented in this blog.
Você já leu Monteiro Lobato? Mesmo que ainda não tenha lido, recomendo a leitura do excelente artigo abaixo, de autoria do meu amigo Gerson Pereira Valle.

My major professional interest has always been connected to decision aiding and decision making. I have worked as a consultant and I have served as advisor to more than a hundred masters theses and doctoral dissertations in that area. The vast majority of these theses and dissertations have been applied to managerial decision making problems in the real word. My students learn how to structure and analyze these problems in order to produce feasible recommendations to decision makers. I completed my PhD in Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, in 1976. My original background is Civil Engineering: I graduated in 1968 from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and I received the MSc degree from Michigan State University in 1970. I spent a sabbatical (1985/86) teaching at the Polytechnic University of New York and with an Alexander-von Humboldt/Krupp research fellowship at the University of Stuttgart. Through this blog I trust that I will be able to exchange views and opinions with people with similar interests and expertises throughout the world.
